Abdulbasit Mohammed Seid

Abdulbasit Mohammed Seid is an experienced WASH project manager and water systems specialist with a strong background in construction oversight, community engagement, and capacity building.

Abdulbasit Mohammed Seid has extensive experience leading WASH programs that combine technical excellence with strong community and institutional engagement. He specializes in overseeing construction and field implementation, supervising local Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs), skilled masons, and short-term technical experts involved in sanitation and water supply projects.

A key part of Abdulbasit’s work is building local capacity and institutionalizing best practices. He has trained Woreda soil and water engineers and supported the integration of water supply infrastructure into climate-resilient WASH approaches. He is skilled in conducting needs assessments, developing strategic plans, and applying monitoring and evaluation frameworks to ensure effective and sustainable project outcomes.

Abdulbasit has strong experience in budget management, resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with international standards and best practices. Technically, he is responsible for the maintenance and rehabilitation of water supply systems, ensuring that both the quantity and quality of water delivered meet required standards.

From September 2014 to December 2022, Abdulbasit served as a WASH Project Manager with the Afar Regional State Design and Supervision Works Enterprise, where he led multidisciplinary teams and worked closely with local stakeholders to improve WASH infrastructure and services.

He is passionate about improving public health and empowering communities through practical, sustainable WASH solutions.
