Lubanga Muzamiru combines water resources engineering education with experience leading community water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects in Uganda. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Water Resources Engineering and brings practical experience in water supply design, project planning, construction supervision, and community training.
Through the WASH Community Ambassadors program, Lubanga supports Needs4Water and Almaquin Enterprises Limited in strengthening community water access. He led the Safe Water, Safe Girls rainwater harvesting project at Waitambogwe Secondary School, guiding work from planning through construction and formal handover on August 17, 2026. Working with school leaders, community members, and project partners, he helped deliver a 5,000-litre system that collects rainfall from an existing classroom roof.
Local ownership formed part of the project from the outset. School representatives contributed to planning, and a School WASH Committee received training in tank checks, gutter cleaning, first-flush operation, leakage reporting, and recordkeeping. School management formally accepted responsibility for operation and maintenance. The installation provides water storage within school grounds and reduces reliance on collection trips through surrounding sugarcane fields.
Lubanga’s wider experience includes protected spring development, community sanitation facilities, and rainwater harvesting installations. He prepares project plans and bills of quantities, uses surveying and mapping to guide site selection, and trains local users in hygiene, facility maintenance, and basic water testing. His approach connects infrastructure delivery with the skills and responsibilities communities need to keep their systems working.
