Water Treatment Operator

Abdelkader Bessakhi

Abdelkader's work with Almaquin connects technical training to daily operating decisions.

Abdelkader Bessakhi brings a background in environmental and process engineering to water treatment operations. He joined Almaquin Enterprises Limited on May 20, 2026, as a water treatment operator at a remote mine site in Quebec’s Côte-Nord region.

His work with Almaquin connects technical training to daily operating decisions. He supports process monitoring, water-quality sampling and testing, inspections, operating tasks, and reporting. Working in a remote mining environment has strengthened his field experience, where distance, weather, and production demands make consistent monitoring and clear communication essential.

Before joining Almaquin, Abdelkader supervised waste water treatment operations in Algeria. His responsibilities included monitoring chemical, physical, and microbiological water-quality parameters, interpreting laboratory results, reviewing operating trends, and preparing technical reports. His Canadian environmental experience includes industrial water sampling, site inspections, environmental risk assessment, and contributions to and remediation reports.

Abdelkader holds a master’s degree in environmental engineering from Algeria and completed graduate studies in environmental engineering at École de technologie supérieure in Montréal. His background includes process engineering studies and practical projects involving coagulation and flocculation, sludge recirculation, biological wastewater treatment, and landfill leachate. He is a candidate to the engineering profession with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

“Côte-Nord connected my environmental engineering background tolive mine-water operations.”
