Kurt Stogrin

Kurt Strogrin specializes in water and wastewater treatment, with nearly 30 years experience in plant management and remote operations, and is a dedicated educator and developer of Indigenous operator training programs.

Seasoned water and wastewater professional with extensive experience in plant operations, supervision, and management across diverse industries, including significant work in remote and Indigenous communities. Skilled educator and program developer, having created and instructed numerous courses and pioneered training programs for Indigenous operators.

Kurt Strogrin is an accomplished water and wastewater professional with a comprehensive background in operating, supervising, and managing water and wastewater treatment plants, with significant experience in remote operations and projects in northern and Indigenous communities. Kurt's leadership extends to education and training in this field. He has developed and instructed courses, including remote classroom and lab courses, and has managed co-op work experience programs.

From 2016 to 2023, Kurt managed 33 utility operators at 12 locations across North America. Prior to 2016 he supervised 22 operators across 7 sites and managed 19 remote plants. His earlier roles include positions at the Town of Whitecourt, McCain Foods Canada, Lamb Weston Canada ULC, City of Lethbridge, and Town of Manning.

At the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (2005-2012), Kurt created and delivered various courses and developed a northern/Indigenous water and wastewater operator training program.
