Shift Lead, Nitrate Treatment Plant (Night Shift)

Snehal Patel

Snehal Patel supervises night-shift operations at a nitrate treatment plant serving a mine site in northern Ontario.

Snehal Patel supervises night-shift operations at a nitrate treatment plant serving a mine site in northern Ontario where he brings together his water treatment experience, industrial safety leadership, and background in chemical and petroleum engineering technology.

His responsibilities cover process monitoring, vessel operations, and coordination with site personnel. He monitors plant flows, vessel pressures, and operating parameters, works with ion exchange and granular activated carbon vessels, and carries out vessel regeneration activities. He completes lockout/tagout documentation, supports equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, and prepares daily shift reports. His operational handovers keep the day-shift team informed of plant conditions and outstanding work.

Before joining Almaquin, Snehal held industrial safety team-lead roles in Alberta’s oil sands. His work included confined-space monitoring, gas-detection equipment inspection and calibration, hazard assessments, and emergency response support. His environmental laboratory experience adds a background in sample tracking, laboratory preparation, data validation, and quality-control documentation.

Snehal holds a Bachelor of Applied Technology in Petroleum Engineering from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Gujarat Technological University in India. His technical education supports his understanding of treatment processes, while his field experience reinforces the operating discipline, documentation, and communication required across shifts.

“Almaquin gave me a bridge from OIT certification to real mine-site responsibility.”
