Since the launch of Needs4Water Project 12, a WASH Survey spanning 25 schools across Ethiopia, Peter Ptah has been a driving force in shaping the team’s strategic vision. As an educator and private tutor from Kenya, Peter has taken the lead in structuring weekly team meetings, setting clear agendas, and ensuring discussions lead to real, impactful progress. His expertise in documentation has been instrumental in co-authoring the Project 12 proposal and he played a key role in the School Selection Committee.
Beyond Needs4Water, he is a passionate Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry educator, specializing in personalized private tutoring and homeschooling through SWIFT Academic Services. His tailored approach has helped students unlock their full potential, build confidence, and achieve academic excellence.

Founded in 2013 by an experienced teacher and private tuition specialist, SWIFT ACADEMIC SERVICES specializes in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Our learners come from a range of educational systems, including 8-4-4, IGCSE, CBC, and Cambridge.
Project 12 launched at Menelik II School, Ethiopia’s first modern school, collecting WASH data to improve hygiene, water, and sanitation for over 2,260 students.
Eyerusalem Primary School supported Project 12 with WASH data collection and water testing, guiding improvements for nearly 1,500 students and contributing to national school sanitation insights.

At Sandford International School, Project 12 gathered WASH data and conducted water testing with support from Dr. Tsion, helping enhance safety for 1,027 students and 304 staff.
At Etege Menen Girls Boarding School, Project 12 evaluated WASH conditions in a unique boarding setting with on-site garden and livestock, serving 617 students and 73 staff since its founding in 1931.
Frequent pump outages limit water access at Time’s Choice Academy, affecting meals and attendance. Project 12 found hygiene efforts in place but critical gaps in sanitation and reliability.
In Arba Minch, Project 12 assessed WASH conditions for 1,486 students at Yetneberish Primary, identifying gaps in sanitation, hygiene access, and the need for stronger water system reliability.
